Music is one of the important activities of the school. both as part of the
course and as outside musical activities. The orchestra, glee clubs, choruses,
pepsters, quartets and trios offer many opportunities for pupils with talent to
express themseives in the language of music. During the school year an orchestra
under the direction of Mr. A. B. Basso, and the Boys' and Girls' Glee
Clubs under Miss Peterson's direction helped to create a general interest in
music. Two quartets were started during the year, the School Quartet and
the Senior Quartet. The Girls' Trio, composed of Mildred Malme, Effie Pederson,
and Julia Dale, rendered several selections during the year.
The history of the Aggie Pepsters began last fall with a total membership
of fifteen. These consisted of male members of the Chorus who were not
participating in athletics. The Pepsters sing school songs and occasionally
popular music at Basketball Games and Pep Fests. This group is provided
with uniforms consisting of white trousers, maroon and gold sweaters and caps
to match. The Pepsters are directed by Mr. Mlinar.
In addition to these organizations, special lessons are offered as an elective
in the course of study by the school. Piano lessons are given by Miss Polski,
vocal instruction by Miss Peterson, and violin lessons by Miss Warne.
