Bruce Willis<br />
Bruce Willis is the father of three beautiful daughters and a lifelong advocate for children. His<br />
commitment to children prompted, President George W. Bush to name Mr. Willis as the<br />
National spokesman on Foster Care and Adoption. He uses his celebrity status to reach out<br />
to the private and public sectors to seek support and solution for the over 500,000 children <strong>in</strong> the<br />
United States foster care system. Together, with First Lady Laura Bush, Bruce rolled-out the<br />
AdoptUsKids website which highlights children <strong>in</strong> the foster care system available for adoption. To<br />
further advocate for the adoption of children out of the foster care system, he created and<br />
distributed three public service announcements that feature Jamie Foxx and the stars Charlie’s<br />
<strong>Angels</strong>, Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu. In addition to the f<strong>in</strong>ancial resources he has<br />
given to the creation and distribution of the PSAs, he also donated a state-of-the-art record<strong>in</strong>g<br />
studio to a group of youth who touched his heart with their program; The Hip Hop Project at Art-<br />
Start, an organization <strong>in</strong> New York that works to empower “at risk” urban youth by giv<strong>in</strong>g them a<br />
way to creatively express themselves.<br />
Bruce <strong>in</strong>sisted that the Los Angeles premiere of the movie Rugrats Go Wild be organized to benefit<br />
programs which directly improved the lives of children <strong>in</strong> foster care, namely, Hollygrove Family<br />
Services; Ettie Lee Group Homes; Vista Del Mar; and Car<strong>in</strong>g for Children and Families with AIDS.<br />
Bruce traveled to Wash<strong>in</strong>gton, D.C. <strong>in</strong> June for a meet<strong>in</strong>g and press conference, with bipartisan<br />
leadership of the United States Senate, call<strong>in</strong>g on members of Congress to come together to<br />
improve the lives of children <strong>in</strong> the foster care system. Follow<strong>in</strong>g the press conference, he hosted a<br />
special screen<strong>in</strong>g of Rugrats Go Wild at Union Station for foster children from D.C, Virg<strong>in</strong>ia,<br />
Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Last year, he helped raise adoption awareness on a national level by<br />
participat<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> National Adoption Day; on that day, the adoptions of more than 1,400 foster<br />
children were f<strong>in</strong>alized.<br />
