GOLF DIRECTOR
Your challenge is to manage the operation and the maintenance of the golf course, driving
range and the Pro Shop to ensure smooth professional service.
Your duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Manage a full scale of golf operations effectively and efficiently.
2. Responsible for the profit and loss of the golf operations.
3. Drive sales of golf memberships and golf related products/services to meet or exceed
set targets.
4. Design, promote and direct all golf activities.
5. Oversee turf management and maintenance.
6. Oversee a team of golf course maintenance staff to ensure proper and a high standard
of turf maintenance and presentation.
7. Market and organize all public and club tournaments.
8. Work with relevant parties in mapping and executing future developmental plans for
the golf operations.
9. Maintain excellent network and relationship with relevant authorities, members and
stake holders.
10. Review operational processes and optimize cost of operations.
11. Investigate and resolve any complaints from members or guests in a timely manner
and inform Management of solutions and actions taken.
12. Responsible for the management of the Pro Shop, including guest service,
merchandising and marketing.
13. Assist with membership sales and recruitment programs.
14. Determine new course or golf equipment needs and capital budget items.
15. Maintain current knowledge of trends and practices in the golf industry, including
golf services and course management.
16. Manage and motivate a team of staff to deliver operational excellence and overall
business objectives.
17. Ensure high quality customer service with adequate customer training for all
employees under the Golf Director’s purview.

Your profile should include:
• Bachelor's degree in Golf Course Maintenance /Administration or its equivalent with
major course work in golf administration or operations and/or business
administration.
• At least 10 years of experience in all aspects of golf operations, with private club
experience preferred.
• Ability to play golf with a handicap of 18 and below.
• Knowledge of marketing and financial management.
• Possess expert technical knowledge of the golf profession and the rules of golf, along
with the ability to interpret and render an accurate decision of all said rules.
• Ability to develop and promote programs to maximize play, participation, and
revenues.
• Knowledge of budgets, services and equipment relating to golf course management
and maintenance is required.
• Possess outstanding leadership quality.
• Excellent management and operational skills.
• Excellent networking, interpersonal and communication skills
• Problem solving, time management and decision making skills are highly essential.
• Possess good temperament and judgment to effectively deal with irate or
unreasonable public and/or members.
• Ability to be both firm and tactful in enforcing golf facility policies.
• Having experience in golf course up-grading and re-modelling projects will be
beneficial.
