Short-term Bank Loans and Long-term Debt The weighted-average interest rates on short-term bank loans outstanding were 1.87% and 28.0% at March 31, 2009 and 2008, respectively. The weighted-average interest rates on long-term debt were 5.1% for debt due within one year and 2.5% for long-term debt other than debt due within one year. At March 31, 2009 and 2008, unused lines of credit were ¥30,000 million ($306,122 thousand). 8. Bonds As a result of the acquisition of Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd., the Companies recorded convertible bond-type bonds with subscription rights to shares of ¥47,083 million ($480,439 thousand).
