Other potential employment sites are also under consideration. There is also likely to be<br />

some employment development within the town centre strategic site and mixed use<br />

development as part of the preferred housing option.<br />

Trowbridge strategic site allocations<br />

3.2.8 The preferred option for the development of Trowbridge is shown in Figure 3.2.2 below. The<br />

Strategic Sites background paper outlines the full methodology and evidence to justify this<br />

option. It also considers alternative options and lists the reasons why they have not been chosen.<br />

3.2.9 In Trowbridge an option capable of delivering up to 2,650 dwellings and 35ha of employment<br />

land (some of which is already allocated) has been identified as a preferred strategic site option.<br />

A town centre strategic site has also been identified as a preferred strategic site. The preferred<br />

option comprises a collection of sites that could deliver a coherent sust<strong>ai</strong>nable urban extension<br />

to the south east of Trowbridge and a town centre strategic site. Det<strong>ai</strong>ls of the specific sites can<br />

be found in the Strategic Sites background paper. The preferred option is bounded to the<br />
