ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS<br />
Admission to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Faculty</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Arts</strong> & <strong>Science</strong> is competitive.<br />
Students should have an average at least in <strong>the</strong> mid to high<br />
80s to be competitive for admission (see below).<br />
The required high school subjects for admission to each stream<br />
are specified below. These subjects will be included when<br />
compiling an applicant’s admission average for <strong>the</strong> category.<br />
Some programs may require additional high school subjects as<br />
prerequisites for specific courses in first year or for entry into<br />
a specific program in second year. However, only <strong>the</strong> required<br />
courses listed below must be included when compiling <strong>the</strong><br />
admission average for <strong>the</strong> category.<br />

Ontario high school students must have completed <strong>the</strong>ir<br />
diploma with at least six grade 12 U or M credits, including:<br />
Humanities:<br />
English 4U, next best five U or M credits<br />
Competitive average: low 80s<br />
Social <strong>Science</strong>s (including economics):<br />
English 4U, next best five U or M credits<br />
Competitive average: low 80s<br />
Rotman Commerce:<br />
English 4U, Calculus and Vectors, next best four<br />
U or M credits<br />
Competitive average: mid to high 80s<br />
NOTE: Rotman Commerce applicants must also submit a<br />
supplemental application. Details will be sent to all Rotman<br />
Commerce applicants.<br />
Computer <strong>Science</strong>:<br />
English 4U, Calculus and Vectors, next best four<br />
U or M credits<br />

Ma<strong>the</strong>matics Preparation<br />
Many programs (e.g. Rotman Commerce, sciences) require<br />
calculus. If you are in a school system that <strong>of</strong>fers calculus, you<br />
should complete that course. Students may take our summer<br />
non-credit preparation program for university-level ma<strong>the</strong>matics<br />
– PUMP – Preparing for <strong>University</strong> Math Program.<br />
