Laws GOVERNING MERCURY IN BATTERIES ARE CHANGING renata launches battery line with 0% mercury In response to more stringent environmentally protective heavy metal laws, Renata recently introduced its new line of 0% mercury, silver oxide watch batteries. New laws requiring this technology are currently scheduled for July 1, 2011 implementation in several states, covering new device sales as well as service and distribution. It is anticipated that additional states and markets around the world will follow.
