AMERICAN SAMOA<br />

l<strong>and</strong>slide. One of these men was med-vac to Honolulu for treatment as the Hospital at Fagaalu was 90% out of business as the whole<br />

hospital was flooded.<br />

A lady in her early 40s was killed by a l<strong>and</strong>slide in Fagatogothat buried the Langkilde Business Center. Another young men in his 20s<br />

was rescued <strong>and</strong> was med-vac to Honolul on the same flight with gentleman from Pago Pago.<br />

Torential rainfall <strong>and</strong> excessive runoff flooded Pago Pago, Fagatogo, Lower Utulei, Fagaalu where the hospital is located. The whole<br />

village of Matu'u was flooded so as the inl<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> valley side of Nuuuli.<br />

Numerous falimies were evacuated <strong>and</strong> had taken up shelters at temporary shelters set up by the Territorial Emergecy Management<br />

Coordinating Office TEMCO. FEMA <strong>and</strong> TEMCO are currely providing assistance to families who were affected by the floods <strong>and</strong><br />

l<strong>and</strong>slides.<br />

President Bush had declared Amrican Samoa a disaster area due to the flash floods <strong>and</strong> l<strong>and</strong>slides. M18OU, M18OU, M23OU, F41OU<br />

A weak tornado moved out of Le Flore County Oklahoma (Tulsa County Warning Area) <strong>and</strong> into Scott County Arkansas 3.5 miles<br />

west-southwest of Bates, near the Coaldale community. The tornado tracked to the southeast for about 2 miles before lifting. Damage<br />

along the track was minimal, just consisting of a few downed trees <strong>and</strong> large limbs that were twisted <strong>and</strong> broken.<br />

A strong tornado touched down in eastern Polk County. The tornado destroyed three barns, knocked the porch off a house <strong>and</strong> blew<br />

part of the roof off another house. Extensive tree <strong>and</strong> power line damage was noted along the path of the tornado. Some trees were<br />

blown onto homes <strong>and</strong> a camper was blown over. The tornado continued moving southeast into Montgomery County.<br />
