The <strong>of</strong>fensive team shall station two base coaches on the field during its turn at bat, one near first base and<br />
one near third base.<br />
a.) Base coaches shall be limited to two in number.<br />
b.) Be in team uniform-coaches are allowed to wear matching shirts/shorts.<br />
c.) Remain within the coach’s box at all times.<br />
*PENALTY. The <strong>of</strong>fending base coach shall be removed from the game, and shall leave the playing<br />
field.<br />
*EXCEPTION.<br />
1.) Its common practice for a coach who has a play at his base to leave the coach’s box to signal<br />
the player to slide, advance or return to a base. This may be allowed if the coach does not<br />
interfere with the play in any manner.<br />
Each team when on <strong>of</strong>fense may be granted not more than one charged conference per inning, to permit the<br />
coach to confer with a base runner and or the batter.<br />
*NOTE. The umpire shall deny any subsequent <strong>of</strong>fensive team request for charged conferences.<br />
*PENALTY. A strike will be called on the batter if more than one conference occurs.<br />
Only one coach will be allowed on the field to discuss a play.<br />
No manager, player, substitute, coach, trainer or batboy shall at any time, whether from the bench, the<br />
coach’s box or on the playing field or elsewhere, do any <strong>of</strong> the following:<br />
a.) Call “Time” or employ any other word or phrase or commit any act while the ball is alive and in play for<br />
the obvious purpose <strong>of</strong> trying to make the pitcher commit a balk.<br />
b.) Make intentional contact with the umpire in any manner.<br />
c.) No fielder shall take a position in the batter’s line <strong>of</strong> vision, and with deliberate unsportsmanlike intent,<br />
act in a manner to distract the batter.<br />
*PENALTY. (a-c). The <strong>of</strong>fender shall be removed from the game, and shall leave the playing field<br />
and, if a balk is made, it shall be nullified.<br />
Not only the manager/coach, trainer, spectator but also a player may also be ejected from a game. He/she<br />
shall leave the park immediately for the remainder <strong>of</strong> that game and will take no further part in the<br />
following game.<br />
One run shall be scored each time a runner legally advances to and touches first, second, third and home<br />
plate before three men are put out to end the inning.<br />
*EXCEPTION. A run is not scored if the runner advances to home plate during a play in which the third<br />
out is made;<br />
a.) By the batter-runner before he touches first base<br />
b.) By any runner being forced out.<br />
c.) By a preceding runner who is declared out because he failed to touch one <strong>of</strong> the bases.<br />
When the winning run is scored in the last half-inning <strong>of</strong> a regulation game, or in the last half <strong>of</strong> an extra<br />
inning, as the result <strong>of</strong> a base on balls, hit batter, or any other play with the bases full which forces the<br />
runner on third to advance. The umpire shall not declare the game ended until the runner forced to advance<br />
from third has touched home plate and the batter-runner has touched first base.<br />
*PENALTY. If the runner on third refuses to advance to and touch home plate in a reasonable time, the<br />
umpire shall:<br />
a.) Disallow the run, call out the <strong>of</strong>fending player and order the game resumed.<br />
b.) If, with two out, the batter/runner refuses to advance to and touch first base, the umpire shall disallow<br />
the run, call out the <strong>of</strong>fending player, and order the game resumed.<br />
c.) If, before two are out, the batter-runner refuses to advance to and touch first base, the run shall count,<br />
but the <strong>of</strong>fending player shall be called out.<br />
If the score is tied after six or seven innings, play shall continue until:<br />
a.) The visiting team has scored more total runs than the home team at the end <strong>of</strong> a completed inning.<br />
b.) The home team scores the winning run in an uncompleted inning.<br />
c.) A game that is tied at the end <strong>of</strong> the time limit (if used by the Tournament Director) must complete the<br />
full inning, if the time elapses during any part <strong>of</strong> the inning. (Unless the home team is ahead)<br />
d.) A game that is tied at the end <strong>of</strong> six or seven innings and/or at the end <strong>of</strong> the time limit, the BPA will<br />
use the International tie breaking system in all age divisions and will be used in all BPA play. (Regular<br />
season, qualifiers, NIT’S and World tournaments).<br />
