The playing field dimensions for BPA Youth Baseball are as follows:<br />
a.) The Official diamond shall have base lines as follows:<br />
1.) 18 and under 90 feet<br />
2.) 16 and under 90 feet<br />
3.) 15 and under 90 feet<br />
4.) 14 and under 90 feet<br />
80 feet<br />
5.) 13 years old 80 feet<br />
6.) 12 and under 70 feet<br />
7). 11 and under 70 feet<br />
8.) 10 and under 65 feet<br />

*NOTE: The BPA will <strong>of</strong>fer in the 14 & Under Age Division a choice <strong>of</strong> the base distance and the<br />
pitching distance with the option <strong>of</strong> using either made by the Tournament Director.<br />
During the course <strong>of</strong> any game, the base distance or the pitching distance is found to be in error, the error<br />
should be corrected immediately, and the game should be continued.<br />
*NOTE. This <strong>rule</strong> is not a point to be protested.<br />
EQUIPMENT<br />
*The BPA Baseball reserves the right to approve or reject any <strong>baseball</strong>-related equipment for its intended<br />
use in the BPA Baseball Program. Equipment does not merely need to meet industry standards, but must<br />
meet BPA Baseball Program standards before approval for its use is granted.<br />
The <strong>of</strong>ficial <strong>baseball</strong> shall be a sphere formed by yarn wound around a small core <strong>of</strong> cork, rubber, leather or<br />
similar material, covered with two strips <strong>of</strong> white horsehide, leather, cowhide, or synthetic material tightly<br />
stitched together. It shall weigh not less than five nor more than 5 ¼ ounces avoirdupois and measure not<br />
less than 9 nor more than 9 ¼ inches in circumference.<br />
The <strong>of</strong>ficial bat shall be a smooth round cylinder with a knob that is permanently and securely fastened and<br />
shall not exceed more than 2-3/4 inches in diameter at the thickest part and not more than 36 inches in<br />
length. There shall be no devices, attachments or wrappings that cause the handle to become flush with the<br />
knob. Molded grips are illegal. Only bats and devices designed to remain part <strong>of</strong> the bat, such as weighted<br />
bats, batting doughnuts and wind-resistant devices are legal at any location. A non- wood bat must have a<br />
safety grip <strong>of</strong> cork, tape or composition material. The grip must extend a minimum <strong>of</strong> 10- inches but not<br />
more than 18- inches. Slippery tape or similar material shall be prohibited. In the 15 and under age<br />
divisions and above the bat shall not weigh numerically more than three- (3) ounces less than the length <strong>of</strong><br />
the bat. Example: A 33- inch bat cannot be less than 30- ounces.<br />
*NOTE. In the 15U and above age divisions non-wood bats shall meet the Ball Exit Speed Ratio- (BESR)<br />
performance standard, and such bats shall be labeled with a silk screen or other permanent certification<br />
mark.<br />
*NOTE. All legal bats are permitted to be used which includes the use <strong>of</strong> the big barrel bats in all divisions<br />
<strong>of</strong> BPA play.<br />
