The pitcher’s glove shall be uniform in color, including all stitching, lacing and webbing.<br />

a.) The pitcher’s glove may not be white, optic yellow or gray.<br />

b.) No pitcher shall attach to his glove any foreign material <strong>of</strong> a color different from the glove.<br />

c.) Gloves with white, optic yellow or gray circles on the outside giving the appearance <strong>of</strong> a ball may not<br />

be worn.<br />

UNIFORM All <strong>players</strong> on a team shall wear uniforms identical in color, trim and style, and all <strong>players</strong>’<br />

uniforms shall include minimal six-inch numbers on their back.<br />

*NOTE. No <strong>players</strong> on the same team may wear identical numbers. If this occurs, the umpire must ensure<br />

that this is corrected immediately.<br />

*NOTE. Coaches/managers are allowed to wear matching shirts and shorts.<br />

a.) Players may wear solid colored undergarments under their uniform shirts. The pitcher shall not wear<br />

a long sleeve white undergarment. A white short sleeve undershirt may be worn if the sleeves are<br />

above the elbow or covered by the <strong>of</strong>ficial game jersey. The white short sleeve must conform to<br />

the manufacture’s original design and cannot be cut, slit or ragged. If the shirt is discovered to<br />

be below the elbow or is considered to be a distraction, time will be called and the undergarment<br />

removed without penalty and the game resumed.<br />

b.) No player shall wear ragged, frayed or slit sleeves.<br />

c.) No player shall attach to his uniform tape or other material <strong>of</strong> a different color from his uniform.<br />

d.) Glass buttons and polished metal shall not be used on a uniform.<br />

e.) A part <strong>of</strong> the uniform may include patches and/or designs relating to commercial advertisements. Any<br />

patch or designs considered inappropriate by league or tournament <strong>of</strong>ficials will not be allowed.<br />

*NOTE: If a team is not in compliance with the uniform <strong>rule</strong>, the opposing team if in total uniform<br />

compliance has the choice <strong>of</strong> being the home or visiting team. If both teams are in compliance or if<br />

both teams are not in compliance, a flip <strong>of</strong> the coin will determine the home and visiting team.<br />

No jewelry is allowed.<br />

a.) Medical alert ID bracelets or necklaces are allowed but must be taped.<br />

b.) Casts or other items judged dangerous by the umpire may not be worn during the game.<br />

c.) Prosthesis may be worn. Any metal that is part <strong>of</strong> the brace must be covered.<br />

d.) Violation <strong>of</strong> the jewelry <strong>rule</strong> is not grounds for protests.<br />

*PENALTY. First warning for non-compliance with the no jewelry <strong>rule</strong> is a team warning. The second<br />

warning is the immediate ejection <strong>of</strong> the <strong>of</strong>fending player.<br />

A batting helmet bearing the NOCSAE stamp is mandatory for each batter, on-deck batter, <strong>players</strong> and<br />

youth coaches in the coach’s boxes and all runners.<br />

a.) The batting helmets worn by each <strong>of</strong> these individuals must have extended ear flaps which cover both<br />

ears and temples.<br />

b.) It is recommend at the 12 and below age divisions, <strong>players</strong> will wear the protective face mask at all<br />

times, while at bat and running the bases.<br />

*PENALTY. When an umpire detects a player deliberately removing a batting helmet during playing<br />

action, a dead ball will be declared immediately. The violator is declared out immediately with all<br />

runners returning to the last base touched at the time <strong>of</strong> the infraction. Preceding runners, scoring<br />

before the infraction, will score and are not required to return to the last base occupied.<br />

Catcher’s Protective Equipment.<br />

a.) The catcher must wear a NOCSAE approved head protector with full ear protection-(dual ear<br />

flaps), a protective mask with a throat protector, body protector, shin guards and any male player<br />

catching or warming up a pitcher must wear a protective cup. Catchers are allowed to wear an<br />

approved hockey style catcher’s mask.<br />

b.) Any player warming up a pitcher at any location within the confines <strong>of</strong> the park will be required to wear<br />

an approved head protector and an approved mask with the throat protector.<br />

*NOTE. The BPA strongly recommends wearing protective mouthpieces while in the field <strong>of</strong> play in<br />

all divisions. The use <strong>of</strong> mouthpieces will be left to the discretion <strong>of</strong> the coaches and parents.<br />

*NOTE. All protective equipment must conform to industry and the BPA Baseball standards.<br />
