14th verse, a The second woe is past, and behold, tbe
third woe cometh quickly." The second woe began by
the civil wars in France and Germany, and ended in the
French revolution; and the third woe will come quickly.
It is the last great woe denounced against the woman
sitting upon the scarlet-colored beast, and against the
earth, which she hath filled with her sorceries, and the
kingdoms of this world, which must dl be destroyed under
this woe.
15th verse, And the reventh angel sounded, and
there were great voices in heaven mying, The kingdom
of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord and
his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever." The
third woe and eventh trumpet are both the same thing,
(see Rev. viii 13; and the eeventh trumpet is the last
trump, when the h ead shall be raised. See 1 Ca. xv.
52. It is &den% also, that we are cauied into the
eternal state forever and ever.
16th verse, GL And the four and twenty elders, which
eat before God on their eeats, fell on their faces and
worshipped God." By the four and twenty elders, I
understand the true miniatere of Chrie alluding to the
twenty-four courses of the priesthood appointed by
David, I Chron. xxiv.
17th verae, U Saving. We Bive thee thank 0 Lord
God ~ImighG, wh;ch &t, andkast, and art to come, because
thou haet taken to thee thy great power, and hast
reigned." This ia the language of every humble and
devoted minister of Jesus Christ, who maker the word crf
God his study, and believes in the overmlillg hand of

wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should
be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy
