Chorfestspiele Bad Krozingen 2015 - Program Book
This event will focus on the get-together of choirs from all parts of the world, on mutual performances at the hot spots of the city and its surroundings as well as exciting choir competitions in ten different categories. Participating choirs will perform at fetching venues, like the city’s churches, the famous Kurhaus Bad Krozingen and the beautiful Kurpark. Outdoor stages will be a recreative place for Friendship Concerts.

In der Folgekonnte Peter Schmitt bei regionalen und internationalenWettbewerben mehrere Diplomeerringen. Die 1. Preise bei den internationalenChorfestivals in Linz und Wernigerode, der 1.Preis beim Hessischen Chorwettbewerb 2013,2. Preise bei internationalen Festivals in Lindenholzhausenund Truro/England sowie dieTeilnahme am Deutschen Chorwettbewerb inWeimar im Jahre 2014 stellen hierbei Höhepunktedar. Konzertreisen in die USA, Ungarn,Tschechien, Österreich und Lettland sind aktuelleStationen der künstlerischen Betätigung.Im November 2014 sang der Chor der Liebigschuleunter seiner Leitung im Plenarsaal desBundestages bei der zentralen VeranstaltungDeutschlands zum Volkstrauertag, die live imZDF übertragen wurde. Peter Schmitt ist einanerkannter Juror und wird als Fachmann beiKritik- und Wertungssingen geschätzt. Zurzeitstehen der Kammerchor „Klangfarben“Gießen, der Männerchor „Sängerkranz“ Watzenborn-Steinberg,der Gesangverein „Harmonie“Daubringen und die Schulchöre derLiebigschule Gießen unter seiner Leitung.Peter Schmitt studied music education atthe Academy of Music in Frankfurt, where hewas amongst others instructed by Prof. UweGronostay in choral conducting. After graduating,he soon worked as a grammar schoolteacher and worked together with renownedconductors. This completed his musical training.Peter Schmitt has won several diplomasin regional and international competitions.The 1 st prizes at the International Choir Competition& Festival in Linz and Wernigerode,1 st prize at the “Hessischer Chorwettbewerb2013” in Schlitz, Germany, 2 nd prizes at the InternationalChoir Festivals in Lindenholzhausenand Truro / England and his participationin the German Choir Competition in Weimarin 2014 represent the highlights of last year‘swork. Concert tours in the USA, Hungary,Czech Republic, Austria and Latvia have beenrecent artistic activities.In November 2014, the choir of the school“Liebigschule” sang under his direction atthe Memorial Day Celebration of the GermanParliament, which was broadcasted liveon ZDF, one of the biggest German televisionchannels. Peter Schmitt is appreciated asadjudicator and expert for choral music inchoir competitions and festivals. Currently,Schmitt conducts the chamber choir “Klangfarben”Gießen, the male choir “Sängerkranz“Watzenborn-Steinberg, the choir „Harmonie”Daubringen and the school choirs of the “Liebigschule”.
