Design Scholarships.
Congratulations to all finalists for the 2006 Wallace
G. Chalmers Engineering Design Scholarships. On
May 15 th and 16 th students gave presentations on
their designs to selection committees composed of
Professors. F. Ben Amara, B. Balcioglu,
W.L. Cleghorn, M. Gruninger, L. Shu and Duncan
Newman.
The 2006 recipients are:

Congratulations to Professor Ridha
Ben Mrad and his wife Amel on the
birth of their daughter Sarah born
Friday, May 12, 2006. Both mom
and baby Sarah are home and doing
well.
Away
Professor H. Naguib will be away from May 21 –
24, 2006 where he will attend the CSME Forum
2006 in Kananaskis, Alberta. He will be presenting
two papers and chairing two technical sessions on
bioengineering and Finite Element Modeling.
Professor C.B. Park will be away May 22 – 24,
2006 at the CSME Forum in Calgary to present 3
papers and attend the CSME Board Meeting.
Victoria Day Holiday
Victoria Day will be celebrated on Monday, May 22,
2006. The University will be closed from 5:00 p.m.,
Friday, May 19, 2006 until the commencement of the
working day, Tuesday, May 23, 2006.
Please note that the MIE Administrative Offices
will be closing at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19,
