System Description<br />
It is essential that the ends of the<br />
concrete cylinder specimens are flat and<br />
parallel for compressive strength tests;<br />
if they aren’t, the end surfaces must be<br />
capped with capping compound, using<br />
capping sets to obtain these conditions.<br />
These capping sets are designed for use<br />
both in the field and in the laboratory.<br />
The capping set comprises a base with<br />
an upright, which serves as a guide for<br />
positioning the capping plate and a<br />
cylinder. The capping plate is machined<br />
to keep molten compound precise, and<br />
to position the cylinder. The set is<br />
supplied complete with cylinder carrier<br />
and ladle.<br />
