C5 Thermistor Characteristics
The 58 Series DPSS laser head has three thermistors for temperature
measurement. There are two for the thermal electric cooler temperature set
points for the 1) diode laser and the 2) crystal laser resonator sections and
finally the 3) base plate over temperature protection. All three thermistors
are 10,000 ohms (Ω) for a temperature of 25 degrees celsius (°C). The
thermistor resistance is inversely proportional to the temperature change,
meaning as the thermistor reading increases the actual temperature is
decreasing. The following conversion table is an approximate correlation
of this two parameters. The tolerances change across the temperature
ranges, approximately +/- 100 Ω @ 25°C; +/- 1300 Ω @ 10°C; and +/-
400 Ω @ 45°C.
