Upper school
During their four years in the Upper School, students forge strong relationships with their
peers and teachers. They develop strengths and affinities that open them up to new and exciting
possibilities. As graduates, they leave confident in their skills and prepared to embrace the
challenges and possibilities that await them.
President Whitmore’s speech from the 1996
the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We’re
“I am not afraid to fail, for I know that
Sayre has prepared me, not just for college,
but for life. I can make independent
decisions without my parent telling me
what exactly I need to do to get the best
grades, be involved in the “right” clubs,
or make “important” connections. I am
also not afraid to fail because I know
that I have an extensive support group
that will be behind me no matter what I
decide to do.”
