DRUM JET DIFFUSERS
These diffusers are designed to handle large air volumes on
comparatively long throws. They are ideally suited for exposed
duct or sidewall applications in large open spaces such as
warehouses, atria, factories, auditoriums, sports halls
(excluding badminton courts) and swimming pools. There are
eight sizes of unit to cover most situations. The angle of
discharge can be adjusted through 60 degrees in one plane.
STANDARD •
Code 0151. Drum jet diffuser.
Code 0150. Diffuser mounted opposed blade damper.
Code 0152. Duct mounted opposed blade damper.
Code 0154. Duct mounted air turn.
Code 0153. Diffuser mounted air turn.
STANDARD SPECIFICATION
OPTIONAL ALTERNATIVES/ADDITIONS
SIZES
The eight units have a nominal height of either
170mm or 271mm. There are four nominal lengths in
the 170mm height i.e. 261mm, 337mm, 490mm and
642mm. There are four nominal lengths in the 271mm
height i.e. 540mm, 667mm, 794mm and 921mm.
CONSTRUCTION
The frame and drum of the diffuser are aluminium
with brush strips to provide a low friction air seal
between them.
FINISH
Silver satin anodised to BS1615 AA5.
OPPOSED BLADE DAMPER.
An opposed blade damper in mill finish aluminium
can be supplied attached to the diffuser (Code
0150) or for duct mounting (Code 0152).
COMBINED AIR TURN, VOLUME
EQUALISER AND CONTROLLER.
A mill finish aluminium combined air turn, volume
equaliser and controller can be supplied attached to
the diffuser (Code 0153) or for duct mounting
(Code 0154).
FINISHES
Any BS or RAL colour in stove enamel paint. Code
0158. Powder coating is not recommended for this
type of diffuser.
FIXINGS
Countersunk screw holes in the border. Size No
6 x 1˝ self tapping screws provided with each diffuser
and painted the same colour as the diffuser. (Fixing
Type OF1).
PACKAGING
Each diffuser is individually wrapped in corrugated
cardboard and then shrink wrapped with cardboard to
top and bottom surfaces.
ORDERING DETAILS
• The code for the basic grille should have 13 digits.
See page 1.
• Please always give length first, then height.
• Add codes for alternatives / additions as suffixes.
EXAMPLE:
A drum jet diffuser to fit a nominal duct size of
261mm long x 170 mm high with an opposed
blade damper attached and stove enamelled to RAL
9010 would be coded
0151/00261/0170+0150+0158 RAL9010 matt.
Jet supplying an air flow rate of 4001/s. Throw = 17m,
(red line) Noise = NR26 (blue line), Pressure Loss =
45Pa. This example is based on ambient air. Assume
you have a temperature differential of +10°, from rise
and fall/temp differential chart on page 4. 17m throw
at 10° temp differential = 4m rise and fall. From rise
& fall chart on pages 4 - 5, 4m rise and fall to achieve
17m throw = 16° downward angular correction.
