and <strong>the</strong> publicity has generally been<br />

positive and enthusiastic. Along <strong>the</strong> way,<br />

<strong>the</strong> hopes and dreams for Bispebjerg <strong>Bakke</strong><br />

have been challenged, and <strong>the</strong> artist,<br />

<strong>the</strong> architects and <strong>the</strong> building owner have<br />

had to revise <strong>the</strong>ir visions. But <strong>the</strong> changes<br />

in circumstances have mostly spurred on<br />

innovation and streng<strong>the</strong>ned <strong>the</strong> close collaboration<br />

between <strong>the</strong> original visionaries,<br />

The Site and <strong>the</strong> Rearing Snake<br />

The site that Bispebjerg <strong>Bakke</strong> is built on slopes down more than 10 metres from <strong>the</strong><br />

highest to <strong>the</strong> lowest point, and covers a total <strong>of</strong> 37,854 square metres. The Bispebjerg<br />

<strong>Bakke</strong> snake rises to 26 metres at its highest point, and is 9 metres tall at <strong>the</strong> lowest<br />

point on <strong>the</strong> ro<strong>of</strong>.<br />
