SAVING WILLOW<br />
Willow was found on the streets by Animal Care<br />
& Control and was very sick by the time she got<br />
to PAWS Chicago. This tiny, two-month-old was<br />
suffering from an injured leg and a severe upper<br />
respiratory infection and needed immediate medical<br />
intervention, as well as some quiet time to heal. And<br />
that’s just what she got.<br />
PAWS Chicago veterinarians gave her the<br />
individualized care that she needed and loving<br />
fosters provided her with the nurturing and<br />
attention she needed to regain her strength and<br />
her health. Thanks to that teamwork, Willow is on<br />
her way to being medically cleared and will soon be<br />
available for adoption.<br />

SAVING THOR<br />

Thor, a two-year-old Husky, was founding wandering the streets<br />
of Chicago before ending up in the city pound. Typical of the<br />
Husky breed, Thor had lots of energy and wasn’t given the<br />
training or socialization as a pup to prepare him for a life in<br />
the big city. At PAWS Chicago, he became a Gold Star Dog and<br />
received special one-on-one sessions with trained volunteers<br />
and the PAWS Canine Behavior team, learning obedience skills<br />
and enjoying lots of playtime as he waited to meet adopters who<br />
could give him the home he needed to thrive. He also benefited<br />
from time in foster, where he learned how to be part of a family.<br />
After waiting patiently for nearly a year and polishing up his new<br />
skills, Thor found his perfect match in March.<br />
