Class Swimming
S2 swimming day is Monday…please ensure your child has their swimming
gear every Monday. Swimming is part of the curriculum and all children are
expected to swim. Please provide a quick note if your child is unable to
swim.
Homework
It is the policy of the school not to provide set homework rather your child
should practice basic facts, reading and spelling.
I do provide mathematic tasks via Study Ladder and also an online reading
programme to compliment classwork, this not compulsory but I find
children enjoy this. You will be provided with passwords shortly.
Throughout the year your child may be given and independent research
assignment to complete.
Food
I am very happy for children to eat fruit during class sessions as it helps
them keep focussed. I provide a microwave and sandwich press if you wish
your child to have a hot lunch. Please ensure they have microwaveable
dishes as needed.

ICT
I fully implement ICT throughout my teaching programme and your child
will have full access to ICT equipment. Lessons are given on computer use,
internet awareness, using cameras – both point and shoot and SLR.
They will also have lessons on web design and blogging and will be
responsible for working on their own web pages. You can view these on the
class site http://www.roomtenlyallbay.com
As per school policy your child will also work on their E-portfolios
throughout the year. You can view and share these with your child at
Parent-Teacher interviews or at any time you want to pop in and have a
look.
Student webpages will be viewable from Week 3.
Thinking Skills
Some of the ‘thinking skills’ we be using in class are DeBono’s 6
Thinking Hats, Blooms Taxonomy, Thinkers Keys….I attached some
information for you.
Contact
