YEAR OF FAITH
Maureen O’Sullivan will give an introduction to an
adult study course in the Catechism of the Catholic
Church that could be set-up in our diocese. This
course is already up and running in 13 diocese
throughout Ireland. Information nights to be held

at 7.30pm or Tuesday 25 th June in the Parish

Portarlington has been chosen by Laois
County Council to represent Laois in the All
Ireland Pride of Place Competition. Judging
takes place in mid July. We need all Clubs;
Associations etc. to show off the brilliant
work you are all doing in the Town. Meeting
takes place on Wednesday June 12 th at
8pm in the Community Centre. We ask
for at least one member of your Committee
to attend. Let’s show the rest of the Country

PORTARLINGTON TIDY TOWNS
In preparation for the National Tidy Towns
Competition, Portarlington Tidy Towns
Association will hold a weekly clean up
throughout the summer months. These
clean-ups will happen every Tuesday from
7-8 pm and will focus on a particular area in
our town. Your support for these clean-ups
is invaluable. We would also appreciate it if
you would keep you area clean as judging
commences this month. The next clean up
will take place on Tuesday next 4th June
from 7- 8pm meeting at the Kilnacourt
Roundabout.
RECYCLE
Support your local School
Emo National School are having a new and
used clothes / old mobile phone collection
on Monday 17 th June from 10am. Anything
from clothes, handbags, ties, linen and
stuffed toys can be left into school in bags
from 9.30am to 2pm each day until Mon
17 th . Old mobile phones can be left in a box
in the school. The collection is a fundraiser
for the school.
