launch a new training project as part of the
roll-out of the Ireland Reaching out
(www.irelandxo.com) initiative in County Offaly.
All training evenings will have a strong practical
focus using internet sources and is free of charge

THE CANAL 5K
It's the annual 5K @ Courtwood in County Laois,
AAI approved& starting at 11am on Sun. 2 nd
June from the local GAA grounds. The event will
offer a lovely scenic walk or run over 5K along a
beautiful canal side route. All times will be
recorded & posted on our Facebook page within
24 hours. Top class hospitality guaranteed after
the race with tea/coffee/sandwiches for all.
Prizes in all categories, presented immediately
after the run. Local Family Fun Day will follow for

WORLD YOUTH DAY
Experience World Youth Day closer to home.
The diocese is offering young people the
opportunity to experience a flavour of World
Youth Day Rio 2013 at the WYD @ Home
Youth Festival in Aylesford Priory, Kent.
The weekend festival will have a Rio
Carnival atmosphere, large screen link up
with WYD in Rio, live bands, catechesis,
guest speakers, liturgies & more! Young
people aged 16-25 are invited to travel with
a Diocesan Group from July 26 th -29 th . Cost
will be €250 euro and will include return
flights Dublin/London, train to Kent,
Camping Accommodation and Meals onsite.

COLAISTE IOSAGAIN 5K
Annual Coláiste Íosagáin 5k will take place
on Fri. 10 th May. All members of the
community are welcome to participate in this
great fun run. In particular volunteers would

Official Opening
Emo GAA are pleased to announce the
official Opening of the new pitch in Emo.
It will take place on Friday 17 th May at
6.15pm followed by a BBQ & light
entertainment. Laois Senior Footballers will
then take on Cork in a challenge game on
the new pitch at 7.30pm, & there will also be
half time matches from the local St. Paul’s
Juvenile Boys and Girls teams. The Club
would like to invite past and present
members of our club, as well as extending
the invitation to all communities to come and
join in our celebrations.
Table Quiz
Table Quiz will take place in the Gate
House, Emo in aid of Emo GAA Players
Training Fund. Date: Saturday May the 11 th
at 9.30pm. Table of four €40.00. Raffle on
the night with some great prizes. Promises
