October 2011 – Mission Month
October is Mission Month, a time when Catholics
are asked to remember the Missions &
Missionaries. At present 1,762 Irish Missionaries
are serving in 84 countries. The Society of the
Propagation of the Faith looks after the
missionary work of the church and encourages us
to offer the young churches our prayers &
support. More than €2.2 million was given to the
Mission Sunday Collection last year. The
Pontifical Mission Society offers an enormous
THANK YOU for your generosity.
Mission Sunday is on 23 rd October, 2011.
THE DELANY ARCHIVE
The Delany Archive cares for the archives of the
Diocese of Kildare & Leighlin, Brigidine Sisters,
Patrician Brothers and Carlow College.
Donations are welcome from persons and
organizations associated with the Delany Archive
partners, for example, priests and members of
religious congregations, parishes, schools and
alumni. Further information regarding our

The Parents Council of Scoil Naomh Eoin,
Killenard will hold their Annual General Meeting

MICHAEL ENGLISH IN CONCERT
Michael English will be performing in St. Peter &
Paul’s on Fri.14 th Oct. at 8pm. Proceeds raised
will go towards St. Peter & Paul’s Church and the
Monasterevin Boy’s Scouts. Tickets are €20

Risk Assessment Document and qualify for a
FETAC Certificate. Members & non-members

Portarlington Lions Club Annual Hunt takes

This hunt will travel down Main Street via
