2015
WDM GUIDE
What are the geographical developments?
It is already well-regarded and recognised across Europe and we see this
growth in other regions of the world. In the Middle East, for example,
they are enjoying a higher profile and delivering greater performances in
jumping. Asia is growing too and we are seeing Russia and the Eastern
European countries getting back in their saddles. We are seeing some
exciting new talent coming from the USA and this will add to the demand
and global fanbase of equestrian sports.
A capacity to attract and retain strong partners that can help and support
is also key. The luxury sector has made a considerable and important
contribution to the development of equestrian sports. But as they continue
to grow, equestrian sports must look to attract other sectors with the same
impact.
Finally, the sport needs stars, visible and recognised ambassadors who
can champion equestrian sports and drive engagement. More could and
should be done to exploit higher profile talent and all stakeholders can
play an important role here.
The World Dressage Masters is reaching around 1 million viewers per
event on Eurosport. These results are very promising and bode well for the
sport growing in coming years. The World Dressage Masters contributes
to the overall promotion of dressage as a sport and their professionalism
contributes to its growth and development. We are very happy and proud
to have been their media partner during the past 4 years.
