Performing Arts - Education<br />
Addysg y Celfyddydau Perfformio<br />
This year has seen a further widening of access<br />
with a range of people from the community<br />
participating in a greater number and variety of<br />
performing arts and literature workshops.<br />
Maximum use is being made of the new spaces<br />
and facilities. Regular classes in all the<br />
performing arts continued and numbers<br />
attending the classes are still rising!<br />
Highlights of the <strong>2001</strong>/<strong>2002</strong> season<br />
The Arts Centre’s Youth Theatre and<br />
Children’s Drama classes continue to<br />
grow in strength, with a new Stage School<br />
planned to launch in September <strong>2002</strong>.<br />
Over 100 young people took part in a<br />
production of Bugsy Malone in the<br />
autumn and went on to work on creative<br />
devised projects and audition skills.<br />
The Arts Centre’s Adult drama groups<br />
undertook three productions during the<br />
year including Timberlake Wertenbaker’s<br />
The Ash Girl, A Clockwork Orange, and<br />
the challenging musical theatre work Oh<br />
What a Lovely War! which involved over<br />
70 people.<br />
The Arts Centre Dance School offers a<br />
busy programme of classes in tap, ballet<br />
and modern dance for all levels, with<br />
excellent exam results. With membership<br />
now over 300, it goes from strength to<br />
strength. The School’s Summer<br />
Showcase was again a sell-out success.<br />
Eleni, llwyddwyd i ddenu rhagor eto o bobl o’r<br />
gymuned i gymryd rhan mewn mwy o weithdai,<br />
a gweithdai mwy amrywiol, yn y celfyddydau<br />
perfformio a llenyddiaeth. Mae’r cyfleusterau<br />
newydd yn cael eu defnyddio i’r eithaf.<br />
Parhawyd i gynnal dosbarthiadau rheolaidd yn y<br />
celfyddydau perfformio ac mae rhagor o bobl yn<br />
dod o hyd!<br />
Uchafbwyntiau tymor <strong>2001</strong>/<strong>2002</strong><br />
Mae dosbarthiadau Theatr Ieuenctid a Drama<br />
Plant Canolfan y Celfyddydau yn mynd o<br />
nerth i nerth. Bwriedir lansio Ysgol Lwyfan<br />
newydd ym mis Medi <strong>2002</strong>. Cymerodd dros 100<br />
o bobl ifanc ran mewn cynhyrchiad o Bugsy<br />
Malone yn yr hydref ac yna aethant ymlaen i<br />
weithio ar brosiectau creadigol a sgiliau<br />
clyweliadau.<br />
Bu Grwpiau Drama’r Ganolfan i Oedolion yn<br />
gweithio ar dri chynhyrchiad yn ystod y<br />
flwyddyn, yn eu plith The Ash Girl gan<br />
Timberlake Wertenbaker, A Clockwork Orange,<br />
a chynhyrchiad o’r ddrama gerdd Oh What a<br />
Lovely War! a oedd yn dipyn o her ac yn<br />
cynnwys dros 70 o bobl.<br />
Mae Ysgol Ddawns Canolfan y Celfyddydau<br />
yn cynnig rhaglen brysur o ddosbarthiadau<br />
dawnsio tap, ballet a modern ar bob lefel ac mae<br />
canlyniadau’r arholiadau yn wych. Mae ganddi<br />
dros 300 o aelodau ac mae’n mynd o nerth i<br />
nerth. Gwerthwyd y tocynnau i gyd ar gyfer Sioe<br />
Haf yr Ysgol Ddawns ac roedd yn llwyddiant<br />
mawr eleni eto.<br />

The Performing Arts Summer Schools<br />
gave a wide range of young people the<br />
opportunity to work intensively on their<br />
performance skills over a week, leading to<br />
final performances, alongside professional<br />
tutors.<br />
Arts Centre Violin, Theory and<br />
Composition students achieved excellent<br />
exam results in external Associated<br />
Board Music examinations.<br />
Yn Ysgolion Haf y Celfyddydau Perfformio<br />
cafodd llawer o bobl ifanc gyfle i weithio’n ddyfal<br />
ar eu sgiliau perfformio dros wythnos gyfan, a<br />
pherfformio ar ddiwedd yr wythnos, ochr yn<br />
ochr â thiwtoriaid proffesiynol.<br />
Cafodd myfyrwyr Feiolín, Theori a<br />
Chyfansoddi y Ganolfan ganlyniadau<br />
ardderchog yn eu harholiadau allanol<br />
