Voting<br />
Each member <strong>of</strong> Council shall represent one (1) vote on all issues related to the Collaborative <strong>Nursing</strong><br />
Degree Program, including those related to policy/procedure. Only <strong>Ryerson</strong> representatives shall vote on<br />
issues that relate exclusively to other programs or policy within the <strong>School</strong>.<br />
Chair <strong>of</strong> the Council<br />
<strong>The</strong> Director <strong>of</strong> the Daphne Cockwell <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Nursing</strong> and a <strong>Ryerson</strong> student representative <strong>of</strong> Council<br />
elected from all the student representatives <strong>of</strong> Council shall act as co-chairs <strong>of</strong> the <strong>School</strong> Council. <strong>The</strong>y<br />
will prepare the agendas jointly and be responsible for conducting meetings.<br />
Notices <strong>of</strong> Council Meetings<br />
A notice in writing <strong>of</strong> a meeting <strong>of</strong> the <strong>School</strong> Council shall be given by the secretary to each member <strong>of</strong><br />
the Council two (2) weeks before the date <strong>of</strong> the meeting.<br />
Meetings <strong>of</strong> the Council<br />
<strong>The</strong> <strong>School</strong> Council shall meet at least two (2) times per academic year at such times and places as the<br />
Council may determine. Additional meetings <strong>of</strong> the Council may be held upon resolution <strong>of</strong> the Council or<br />
at the call <strong>of</strong> the co-chairs.<br />
Quorum for Council Meetings<br />
A quorum for a meeting <strong>of</strong> the <strong>School</strong> Council shall be not less than fifty percent (50%) <strong>of</strong> the total<br />
membership <strong>of</strong> the Council.<br />
<strong>School</strong> Council Committees<br />
<strong>The</strong> Standing Committees <strong>of</strong> the <strong>School</strong> Council shall be:<br />
• the Curriculum Committee.<br />
• the Evaluation Committee.<br />
Special Committees may be appointed by the <strong>School</strong> Council at any time for any purpose (such purposes<br />
to include long term planning, financial matters, physical resources, etc). <strong>The</strong> convenors <strong>of</strong> such<br />
committees shall be from the members <strong>of</strong> the <strong>School</strong> Council.<br />
All Ad Hoc Committees established to determine <strong>School</strong> policy will form through the <strong>School</strong> Council.<br />
A Quorum for Committee Meetings should not be less than fifty percent (50%) <strong>of</strong> the total membership <strong>of</strong><br />
the committee.<br />
Committee Chairs in conjunction with committee membership are responsible for:<br />
• calling meetings.<br />
• establishing committee priorities (based on <strong>School</strong> need).<br />
• reporting to the <strong>School</strong> Director.<br />
• reporting to the <strong>School</strong> Council when appropriate.<br />
Amendments<br />
<strong>The</strong> <strong>School</strong> Council may revoke, amend or re-enact these bylaws provided that notice in writing is given<br />
to each member <strong>of</strong> the Council at least two (2) weeks before the next meeting <strong>of</strong> the Council. <strong>The</strong><br />
revocation, amendment, or re-enactment shall not come into force until it is ratified by the Academic<br />
Council.<br />
