nursing pr<strong>of</strong>ession as a whole, and promotes concepts such as pr<strong>of</strong>essionalism, leadership, visibility,<br />
education and advocacy. CNSA represents, is run by, and is independently controlled by the nursing<br />
students that are our members. CNSA, while being dynamic, and responsive to the current issues and<br />
events, is guided by several underlying principals and objectives.<br />
<strong>The</strong> objectives <strong>of</strong> the CNSA are:<br />
1. to provide a communication link among nursing students across Canada, recognizing the<br />
specific language needs <strong>of</strong> our bilingual country<br />
2. to act as the <strong>of</strong>ficial voice <strong>of</strong> nursing students<br />
3. to provide a medium through which members can press their opinions on nursing issues<br />
4. to encourage participation in pr<strong>of</strong>essional and liberal education<br />
5. to provide a liaison with other organizations concerned with nursing<br />
6. to increase the awareness <strong>of</strong> both the existence <strong>of</strong> and the need for nursing research<br />

<strong>The</strong> process overview and forms for reporting practice injuries/incidents are available on the Central<br />

CONTACTING TEACHERS<br />
Telephone: All telephones within the Daphne Cockwell <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Nursing</strong> are equipped with voice mail<br />
for messages. Extensions can be accessed through the <strong>Ryerson</strong> central line (979-5000). Messages can<br />
also be left on the voice mail <strong>of</strong> the Daphne Cockwell <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Nursing</strong> general <strong>of</strong>fice line (979-5300).<br />
Office Hours: Each teacher posts <strong>of</strong>fice hours during which he/she is available to meet with students.<br />
COMPUTER LABS AND EMAIL<br />
Computer labs located around campus <strong>of</strong>fer e-mail, World Wide Web access, word processing, printing,<br />
and much more.<br />
Computer Labs<br />
KHW71 (basement <strong>of</strong> West Kerr Hall) is the central computing facility. An advisor is available to assist<br />
during hours <strong>of</strong> operation. <strong>The</strong>re is also support from home: 416-979-5000 X6840.<br />
Computer labs in West Kerr Hall (KHW377 and KHW379), and on the third floor <strong>of</strong> the Library (LIB393<br />
and LIB386L) operate as remote labs.<br />
Community Services Lab<br />
<strong>The</strong> Faculty <strong>of</strong> Community Services also has a separate fully equipped computer lab (KHW71G) with 40<br />
computers available to Daphne Cockwell <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Nursing</strong> students. <strong>The</strong> hours are the same as<br />
KHW71.<br />
