Moore International to
distribute Schneeberger
Moore International is pleased to announce
that it has been appointed as a key
distributor for Schneeberger linear products
within the UK & Ireland. For many years,
the Schneeberger name has been
synonymous with modern linear guide
technology for the mechanical engineering
industry. Thanks to its unyielding focus on
linear technology, the company gives
customers significant technical and
economic advantages that they can build
into their applications.
Schneeberger offers a broad range of
products, from linear and profiled guide
ways through to complete linear-drive
positioning systems designed especially for
their customer. Mark Moore Director of
Moore International says: “We are really
pleased to have the Schneeberger range of
linear products available now and this will
complement our current range of quality
Swiss lead and ball screws.
industries from medical to commercial,
aerospace to marine, and sells to OEM, end
user and design companies. Moore also
New safety training course
for packaging machinery
Pilz has launched a new safety training
course which aims to give an
understanding of the latest legal and best
practice requirements for the use and
supply of packaging machinery and
continuous handling equipment. The twoday
course firstly gives a general overview
of the European Directive affecting supply
of equipment; the UK National Regulations
affecting the use of equipment; risk
assessment and reduction, and guarding
and safety-related control system
requirements. It then goes deeper in to the
specific C-standards for Packaging
Machinery (EN 415 series) and Continuous
Handling Equipment (EN 617-20 series).
The course is aimed at users of
machinery and anyone responsible for
redesigning/modifying or integrating these
types of machines within factory lines.
A show for Britain’s 21st
Century industrial renaissance
The industrial revolution brought profound changes to both the economy
and the landscape of northern Britain. Now, with the worst of the recession
seemingly behind it, UK manufacturing in the North is on the verge of a
renaissance. The Northern Manufacturing & Electronics Show (Event City,
Manchester, October 2nd and 3rd) aims to become its focal point
From Silicon Glen to the thriving
aerospace industries of the
North West and the busy
workshops of the Midlands, UK
manufacturing is once again forging a
formidable global reputation in highvalue
engineering and 21st Century
technologies. But in an industrial
landscape no longer dominated by largescale
engineering corporations, the huge
mono-sector, national exhibitions of
yesteryear now have very little
relevance.
Today’s UK industrial enterprise is
now much more likely to be a small to
medium sized concern, often highly
specialised and highly skilled in its
particular field of expertise. The
Northern Manufacturing & Electronics
Show is aimed very much at these
engineers of the UK’s 21st Century
industrial revolution.
Northern Manufacturing &
Electronics is a new show based on the
hugely successful format of the Southern
Manufacturing Show, which has grown
over the last 18 years to become a key
event in the UK manufacturing industry
calendar. What has differentiated
Southern from other industrial shows is
that rather than trying to impose a rigid
structure on the kinds of companies
taking part, the event embraces the full
diversity of UK industrial enterprise.
Within a single venue, visitors will find a
cross-section of the entire UK industrial
eco-system. Visitors, who themselves
are likely to be from a busy SME, can
make excellent use of time spent away
from the office by discovering a wide
range of products and services in a
single visit.
Time is one of the most important
commodities for today’s industrial
professional. With limited time available
for exhibition travel, event location has
become hugely important. The opening
of Event City, in the heart of Manchester,
has placed the second largest exhibition
venue outside of London within easy
reach of the northern half of the UK.
Excellent transport connections to the
28,000m² venue mean that many
visitors do not have to sacrifice an entire
day to attend. Many visitors to the
Southern Manufacturing show choose to
attend on their way to or from the office
– and even during their lunch breaks in
some cases.
Easy access is important, but the
most crucial factor is, of course, the
number and quality of firms exhibiting.
Visitors to Northern Manufacturing need
have no concerns on this point. Such is
the reputation that proceeds it, Northern
Manufacturing 2013 has already pulled
in more exhibitors than the first
Southern event, including an impressive
selection of major international
manufacturers. The Eurotech Group,
XYZ Machine Tools, Brother, Fronius UK,
Renishaw, Nikon Metrology, Yamazaki
Mazak and Trumpf are just some of the
confirmed names that will be joining a
host of local firms exhibiting.
Along with machinery and
production equipment, components and
electronics, sub-contractors and
business services of all descriptions will
be well-represented at the event. Some
well-known names include TUV
Rheinland, Electronics Yorkshire, DJJ
Precision Engineering, Aerotech and
Serious Engineering.
Entry to Northern Manufacturing &
Electronics 2013 is completely free to
business visitors, and Event City offers
3000 free on-site car parking spaces,
with easy access by road, rail or air. To
register online for tickets, or to find out
about exhibiting at this unique event,
