Per federal law, all passengers ages 18-64 must present a valid<br />

and current driver’s license, passport, or other photo identification<br />

(ID) in order to purchase a ticket. Passengers must carry<br />

th<strong>is</strong> ID when onboard the train. Passengers under 18 who do<br />

not have a photo ID must have an adult 18 or over (with a photo<br />

ID) purchase their ticket(s). For passengers 65 and over, ID <strong>is</strong><br />

required only to prove eligibility for d<strong>is</strong>counted fares.<br />

immediately to a station agent or train crew member, or call<br />

<strong>Amtrak</strong> Police at (800) 831-0008. By being watchful and observant<br />

Unaccompanied Children<br />

Children 15 and older may travel unaccompanied, but do not<br />

qualify for any d<strong>is</strong>counts available for children traveling with an<br />

adult. Children 15 and older are subject to all policies applying<br />

to adult passengers. Minors 15 and older may purchase tickets<br />

on their own from a ticket agent or conductor if they present<br />

a valid photo ID. Children 8 to 14 may travel unaccompanied<br />

with certain restrictions. Children 7 years old and younger may<br />

not travel alone. They must be accompanied by a person 15<br />
