What’s s under consideration? • It must be acknowledged that, if this system is implemented, in any individual case where there is a marked discrepancy between an individual’s “in house” assessments and the results of formal examinations, the matter should be referred for appraisal to a panel formed by the Chief Examiner and chaired by the Chairman of the BoC. . Similarly, if there was continued significant discrepancy between the in house assessments from a single institution and the results of candidates in the formal examinations, then the institution and their assessment process should be formally reviewed. 10.3.06
What’s s under consideration? • Accreditation of supervisors – In line with AMC requirements consideration has to be given to formal accreditation of supervisors – the mechanism is under discussion but would necessarily include continuing updates to ensure familiarity with supervisors role/requirements and the assessment process. 10.3.06
