Indication as to what is required for slide
reporting in the practical examinations
– “Report on each case along the lines you would use in
everyday practice, including a brief microscopic
description of each slide. Whenever possible, identify
the organ or tissue and emphasise any features you
would need to highlight in your report to the referring
clinician”
– “If you are unsure as to the diagnosis, a differential
diagnosis should be given and the means by which you
arrive at your preferred diagnosis indicated”
– “Differential diagnoses should be discriminating ,
reflect your microscopic description and should show
discernment of the issues illustrated in the sections”
