SAFETY & SECURITY
The safety and security of passengers, employees, and tenants is John
Wayne Airport’s highest priority. We are dedicated to keeping our facilities
in excellent condition and providing ongoing training to our already
highly-qualified staff.
• We conducted an FAA-required full-scale triennial emergency drill – a key component
of the Airport’s emergency preparedness program. The drill was a collaborative effort
between John Wayne Airport personnel, Orange County Fire Authority, Orange
County Sheriff’s Department, Orange County Health Care Agency, nine local city fire
departments, and volunteers from 11 local Community Emergency Response
Teams (CERT).
JWA employees, law enforcement, and fire safety partners train separately and
together throughout the year to ensure they are prepared to respond quickly and
efficiently to a variety of possible scenarios.
The Airport has installed Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) throughout the Riley
Terminal complex and administration offices. To support fast response to medical
emergencies, Airport Police can transport AEDs to the scene via T3s and Segway’s.
