Stewardship a Way of Life
This Week’s Readings
In today’s Gospel, Jesus gives His disciples, and us, a
new commandment: “Love one another.” Good
stewards who spend their time and talents in service to
others are well on their way to fulfilling this
commandment.
Living Stewardship
We are grateful this week for all stewards in our parish
who share their gifts of hospitality with others through
ministry such as greeters, ushers and our welcome
committee.

FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER

St. Agnes Cathedral School
and
Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation
The second collection on May 4 th and 5 th is in
support of St. Agnes Cathedral School and the
Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation. Tomorrow’s
Hope provides tuition assistance to students in
need attending Catholic elementary schools and
gives grants directly to schools to offset general
expenses. Last year the Foundation gave over
$1.75 million to students while actual student
need was over $6 million.
Our school has many needs. Tuition, parish
subsidy and fundraising all help to balance the
budget. Each year, however, new technologies
and curricular needs arise. The money that you
give to the second collection on May 4 th and 5 th
will help to expand the school’s academic
excellence and helps to remain a place where our
faith is taught and lived.
Sustaining Catholic elementary education is vital
to the future of our society and our Church. Our
students are our future. They are tomorrow’s
hope. Please be as generous as possible with your
donation on May 4 th and 5 th .
Holy Day Schedule
Thursday, May 9th, is Ascension Thursday, a Holy
Day of Obligation. Our Mass schedule is as follows:
Wednesday, May 8th Vigil Mass 5:00 p.m.
Spanish Mass 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, May 9th 6:30, 7:45, 9:00, 10:30 a.m.,
12:10 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Mary's Day Celebration
Saturday, May 11, 2013
All are invited to celebrate the 9:00 a.m. Mass at St.
Agnes Cathedral followed by breakfast at 10:30 a.m.
at Frank's Steaks, RVC. Cost is $40 for adults, $25 for
seniors and $20 for children. For reservations and
