EIGHTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Dear Parishioners:
I am writing in regard to our desire to replace the hymnals in the Cathedral and Lower Hall. The hymnals
in the Cathedral have served us well. However, they are almost ten years old and have fallen into
greater and greater states of disrepair. The hymnals in the Lower Hall are even older and they too are
in need of replacement.
After a good amount of investigation and discussion we have chosen the Worship IV Hymnal for the
Cathedral and the Breaking Bread Missalette for the Lower Hall. Each of these Hymnals contains the
revised translation of the Mass, which means that we will no longer need pew cards for prayers such as
the Creed. They also contain the revised Mass settings which will enable us to sing certain parts of the
Mass without having to have additional pages printed each week. These hymnals include music that is
currently sung as well as some new music. Please also know that the hymnal chosen for the Lower
Hall is "user friendly" for families and, because it is a missalette, it will be replaced every year.
As we did ten years ago, we are asking you to consider gifting/memorializing one or more of these
hymnals. The cost of the Worship IV Hymnal is $22. and the cost of memorializing three years of the
Breaking Bread Missalette is also $22. On each of the hymnals there will be a bookplate memorializing
each gift. The enclosed sheet describes the three different forms that are available for the bookplate
as well as a limited number of other books related to the hymnals that can be memorialized.

to lift our hearts and voices to God and. at the same time, remember your intention.
