July birthday celebrant Ruth Shapiro reached her century (mazel tov to her and her fellow celebrants!) and had the pleasure of cutting the cake at the birthday luncheon – a pleasure doubled by having her son, Edward, present and on hand to help do the honors. HAPPENINGS AT HOME PRE-INDEPENDENCE DAY CONCERT The flags were waved, the music rang out, and red, white and blue were the colors of the day when residents pre-celebrated Independence Day at a concert on July 3. (Forward thinking, that’s us.) Enjoying the concert are, left to right, Mikhail Yukhtman, Nina Ablin, Liza Golmyan and Liza Yurkovetsky.
