FOOD FORUM Last month’s open Food Forum minutes were distributed. OLD BUSINESS Edie Sadewitz commended the programming broadcasted on channel 17 and Sunday afternoons. Edie thanked staff who assisted with the setting up of the Council meeting. Dulce Martinez suggested sending get well cards on behalf of the Council to Mike Abreu and Edie Shaffer. Mark Friedlander reminded residents of the dates and times of the next town hall meetings with Edwin Cabigao. Mark spent the remainder of the meeting addressing residents’ concerns about the continued changes throughout the Home. NEW BUSINESS Edie Sadewitz reminded the Council officers and residents in attendance of the voluntary contribution of $2 for biennial residents’ dues. Residents who wish to contribute should bring their $2 to the September Council meeting. Residents agreed to make a $50 donation towards the victims of the Oklahoma tornado. Edie Sadewitz volunteered to speak to Rabbi Marder to see if the donation can be made to a Jewish organization. If such an organization is not available, the donation will go to the Red Cross. Rebekah Finer suggested adding a Russian conversation program to the activities calendar. Mark Friedlander announced the following changes to television channels: Lifetime is now broadcast on channel 10 and Comcast sports on channel 30. The FX channel has been removed until further notice. Mark spent the remainder of the meeting addressing residents’ concerns about the continued changes throughout the Home. RAFFLE WINNER Mark Steiner was the lucky winner of this month’s raffle.
