Damage corn, sorghum, cotton and many vegetable crops belonging to Solanaceae and Leguminosae. • Suck sap of leaves to cause white and yellow spots; Eventually sucking causes leaves to crimple ( 皱缩 ), wither and die.

Overwintered adults begin to be active on alternative hosts in spring, e.g. weeds rather than crops and then move into cotton or corn fields from end of May to early June. They cause the most severe damage during mid-Jul. to late Aug. Number reduces after Sep.
