EID AL ADHA - STAFF ACCOMMODATIONS ACTIVITIES We are proud to inform you of the recent activities held in our staff accommodations in celebration of Eid Al Adha, last Saturday, 4th October 2014. Our Administration team in cooperation with all Camp Inspectors headed by Nisar Ahmed have distributed sweets among Imdaad/Isnaad staff residents in various Imdaad camps all over UAE. Buses arrived on time at South JAFZA and Musaffa Isnaad camps and later transported tenants for down town tour and they were brought back in their respective camp destinations in the evening. IMDAAD HOSTS MEDIA DAY TO EXPRESS GRAATITUDE FOR THEIR CONTINUOUS SUPPORT ENERGY & WATER SAVING TIPS AC and ventilation: Turning your thermostats up 2 degrees can reduce your AC energy use up to 16%. Imdaad recently organized a Media Day at Rixos The Palm Dubai to extend its gratitude to UAE-based media professionals. The event was presided by the company CEO Jamal Abdullah Lootah who expressed his deepest gratitude to the media fraternity, including journalists, photographers and editors, for extending their tireless support throughout the year. VEHICLE INSPECTION REPORT Vehicles with Green Point • Set the AC at a comfortable temperature - 24 degrees Celsius is recommended. In many offices people are uncomfortably cold but have no control over the thermostat. • Turn off the AC in meeting rooms and spare offices as you leave them. • Post “Switch It Off” stickers near switches as reminders. • If there’s a heat source near a thermostat, such as a coffee pot or a computer, it can trick the thermostat into thinking that the room is hotter than it really is. Make sure to keep them away from each other. • Set the AC system to low fan speed as the normal setting. • Lower window blinds to reduce direct sunlight. • Close windows while the AC is switched on to keep cool air from escaping. • Keep main entrance, office and cabin doors closed wherever possible. • Install blinds, solar screens or shades to cool the office. • Install reflective window film or awnings. Water: Low-flow urinals use as much as 96% less water. And you can save a whole 1.5L per flush with a simple brick placed in your cistern. • Repair leaks. • Install automatic shut off nozzles. • Post “Turn It Off” stickers near taps as reminders. • Install water-saving faucets on all taps. • Install low flow or zero water urinals. • Install low flush cisterns in bathrooms. • Regulate the water pressure in all devices. • Keep all equipment regularly maintained. • When washing cups and dishes, fill a bowl - don’t let the water run away. 23 28 IMDAAD NEWSLETTER | OCT | JUL–SEP - DEC 2014
