Directional Waterproofs
Designed for High Mountain use
I heard about Páramo clothing
a decade ago when friends
raved about this revolutionary
clothing company.
Guaranteed protection
For the Greenland Icecap I wanted
for the most extreme
the very best clothing to take on
environments
a challenging polar environment
with varied and extreme weather
Assured comfort and performance:
conditions. I decided to use Páramo.
“I’d definitely recommend
the Salopettes to anyone
who spends long, hard
days in the mountains
during winter. ”
Salopettes are ideal to pull a pulk
– warmer plus more comfortable,
reducing friction from the harness.
I tried many pairs, but finding
Paramo’s Aspira salopettes,
I immediately decided they were
unparalleled. Unlike Gore-Tex,
they’re more breathable and offer
greater warmth, dispensing with
unnecessary, voluminous underlayers.
• Full length side zips allow easy ventilation
• ‘Access all areas’ seat design for comfort stops
even when using a harness
• Unrestricted leg movement from diamond gusset
and knee articulation
• Calf-adjust cords reduce crampon tripping
• Snow-sport friendly with adjustable ankle snow cuffs
• Slimline removable knee and seat foam inserts
• Reinforcement on areas of most abrasion
• Two zipped hand pockets
• Wear next to skin or with Stretch Pants
in extreme cold.
CLIMB Magazine
2010
We encountered a huge temperature
range on the icecap (+20 to -45°C).
The full length zips were really helpful.
Whilst skiing I unzipped them even on
the coldest days, zipping them back
up during rests – an efficient system
to regulate my temperature as it’s so
versatile and fast.
I coupled the Aspira salopettes with
the Ladies’ Aspira Smock – extremely
breathable and simultaneously warm.
It offered great protection from the
wind so, even at -40°C, I wore just a
thermal under. The hood is a good size
and the large pockets very useful to
keep my GPS warm and to hand.
Páramo kept me dry and comfortable
through continuous use during long
days skiing and nights camping on
the ice. I was one of the only members
in the team of eight not to suffer cold
injuries despite my poor circulation.
I’m very grateful to Páramo for
inventing such useful clothing, heartily
encouraging anyone to invest in it.
