My Aspira’s
also featured
on television.
I replied to an
ad on the MLTE website seeking ‘an
active family’ – and we were chosen to
make a Visit Wales advert, promoting
“Proper Holidays” and featuring Wales’s
beautiful landscapes. Six days of filming
featured us exploring Caernarfon Castle,
Portmeirion and Greenwood Park (an
eco-friendly theme park). We camped
at Shell Island and explored beautiful
beaches, pony trekked in Brecon and
climbed at Llangorse activity centre. I
had no hesitation in packing my trusty
Aspira for the shoot. It did a fantastic
job trekking in the glorious landscape
of the Snowdonia National Park and for
bushcraft activities near Portmeirion.
I wear Páramo because it works so
well. It’s kept me dry during absolute
monsoons in the mountains of the
Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Peak
District and Snowdonia. It kept out
the cold and wind on the Kala Platter
(Himalayas) in -25°C.
My Páramo jackets are great for
climbing – other brands seem to
restrict movement due to their
restrictive fit/ hard shell fabric. The soft
fabric makes Páramo very wearable for
recreational and hard-core mountain
activities – ideal for filming too! My
Páramo baselayers complement the
outers with excellent breathability
and dry very quickly.
The only problem with my Páramo is
that it never seems to age and doesn’t
need replacing. When I need an excuse
to justify new outdoor equipment
Páramo doesn’t give me one – if my
clothing didn’t have such sentimental
value I’d be tempted to sabotage it!
