Mr Karl Lung, MBA, CFA, AIWS<br />
Mr. Lung is a pr<strong>of</strong>essional in both wine and investment. Mr. Lung holds the Diploma in Wines and Spirits issued by the UK<br />
based Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) and is an Associate <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Institute</strong> <strong>of</strong> Wine and Spirit and a WSET Certified<br />
Educator. He is the Principal Lecturer <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong> Wine Academy, and has been teaching WSET courses since<br />
2007.<br />
Mr. Lung is also an experienced pr<strong>of</strong>essional; include 9 years as Portfolio Manager with ABN AMRO Asset Management<br />
and 7 years as investment analysts mostly with major international brokerage houses. Currently, he is the President <strong>of</strong> The<br />
<strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong> Society <strong>of</strong> Financial Analysts.<br />

Details<br />
With the increasing popularity <strong>of</strong> wine drinking in <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong>, wine is more and more likely to be ordered and/or consumed<br />
in business occasions. Good knowledge in wine can avoid unnecessary embarrass situations, or may even help to<br />
break the ice and be a good warm up for the subsequent meetings. This seminar will help those with no or limited wine<br />
knowledge to gain basic understandings in wine and the related table manner. In addition, Mr. Lung will also give an<br />
introduction to the aspects <strong>of</strong> wine investments as well.<br />

This seminar is part <strong>of</strong> the HKIS QSD PQSL Series 2010 - 2011 and aims to enhance candidates' knowledge in estimating<br />
and pricing techniques including:<br />
• Order <strong>of</strong> costs for major const. work.<br />
• Search and analysis cost data, tender price index, making adjustment to historical data.<br />
• Build up prime cost rates, preliminaries items, overhead/pr<strong>of</strong>its items.<br />
• Employing appropriate estimating techniques in different stage <strong>of</strong> development.<br />
Language English Fee HK$100 per person, HK$50 for student member<br />
(HK$20 walk-in surcharge for all pricings listed).<br />
