SPC MH Practises Good CSR

Although still in the exploration stage, SPC Mahakam Hilir (SPC MH), the
company engaged for the exploration of oil and gas projects under Special
Unit for Oil and Gas (SKKM), has promoted the practice of Corporate
Social Responsibility (CSR) to its surrounding residents.
On 2 April, SPC MH kick-started the cement plant works inauguration
at Jalan Pelita VI in RT 17 Sambutan District, Samarinda City, East
Kalimantan, Indonesia. The cost of cementing and hardening for the Jalan
Pelita project with a total length of 800m and a thickness of 25cm was
about Rp 1.6 billion. An inspection for the installation of clean water pipes
and drilling of a water well were carried out at the same time. This event
was also attended by senior government officials of the Sambutan District.
“The cementation and hardening for the Jalan Pelita project demonstrate
our concern for the residents in the community as well as for the intention to
support leisure facilities and good transportation systems in this area. This
project will contribute to strong economic growth. SPC MH will hire more
local labourers for the upcoming operation of the project,” said General
Manager of SPC MH, Soekoesen Soemarinda, who was accompanied
by Operations Manager Eramsyah Ilham and Fardian, Field Operations
Representative.
Deputy Mayor of Samarinda, Ismail Nusyirwan, who was accompanied
by Chairman of Parliament (DPRD), Siswadi, and Management of Oil
and Gas (SKK Migas-Balikpapan), Kholison Yanin, mentioned that the
assistance from SPC MH was highly appreciated and set a good example
to other enterprises in Samarinda to practise CSR as well.
“We appeal to every citizen to render help and support to SPC MH. We have
instructed the heads of related districts and villages to provide necessary
assistance during the construction process. These are the government’s and
city’s assets, which could support the growth of the economy in Samarinda,”
said Mr Nusyirwan.

Recreation Committee is presenting the first
Inter-Department Annual Sports Competition. For this
year’s event, Table Tennis, Basketball, Badminton and
Futsal will be organised from 14 May to 31 July. A total of
4 teams formed by different departments will participate
in this event to compete for the Final Championship! The
winning team that scores the highest total points earned
in each sport will be awarded the trophy and prizes in this
year’s D&D on 16 August.
The goals of this event are to promote:
• A healthy lifestyle – The only way to stay healthy is
to eat properly, get sufficient rest and exercise regularly.
Without exercise, eating healthily and resting well will
not be enough to help you lead a healthy life.
• Team building – Because teamwork is required in team
sports, these group events will encourage team building
and improve the cohesiveness of departments, whether
you are participating or cheering for the teams.
• Talent discovery – By organising these events, we are
able to represent our Company when the need arises.
So let us cheer for our teams and wait with great anticipation
for the winners!
SPC Retail Annual
Dinner 2013

From 9–10 May 2013, we held our annual Network Service Station’s
Annual Dinner on two consecutive nights at Furama City Centre.
It was a meaningful and important event and attended by 350 staff
each night. It was an opportunity to express our special thanks to our
front line staff, who work tirelessly for 24/7, 365 days a year, come
rain or shine.
The theme of this year’s event was “Army Dayz” and many predinner
activities were planned around it. There were shooting games,
an instant photo booth, camouflage painting, etc. Another planned
event was to stage a “rescue mission to capture all terrorists hiding in
the grand ballroom!” That activity brought on laughter and applause
when the audience saw their station managers decked out in army
gear with “camouflaged” faces!
Another fun activity was the “First Dish” presentation by the station
managers and the retail staff, where all tables were served a mass-tin
full of “Want Want” Rice Crackers! Each attendee was also presented
with an “Army Dayz” themed ez-link card.
Mr Vincent Tay, Vice President, Marketing played host during the
two-day event. He stressed the importance of HSE and also reminded
all staff to continue providing good customer service.
Mr Adam Xiong, Executive Director and Executive Vice President,
attended the event on both nights. He presented Award Certificates
to stations with outstanding performances for 2012 and prizes for the
top 10 winners of the lucky draw.
Throughout the evening, guests were constantly engaged and
captivated by the food, and of course the exciting stage activities.
On the second night, many guests and staff were spotted dancing the
night away.
