CNPC’s Corporate Social Responsibility Report 2012<br />
China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) presented its Corporate Social<br />
Responsibility (CSR) Report 2012 on 8 May 2013. The report highlights key initiatives and<br />
implementation plans as well as the company’s performance throughout 2012.<br />
As stated in the CSR Report, from the strategic point of view, CNPC not only provides<br />
sustainable energy supply, but also strives for responsible operation and production.<br />
It enhances employee development and drives social welfare and community services.<br />
These factors have contributed to the annual economic growth, environment and social<br />
responsibility of CNPC.<br />
The report details the concept of “How to be a Responsible Corporate Citizen”, which<br />
reflects CNPC’s goals to build an integrated international energy company that engages with<br />
the world on a higher and deeper level.<br />
The report introduces various initiatives of CNPC, which have been carried out to promote<br />
the sustainable energy supply for China and the global market. At the same time, these<br />
initiatives ensure environmental-friendly operations and participation in public welfare<br />
undertakings.<br />
As it presented its CSR Report for the 7th consecutive year, CNPC also released a new<br />
publication titled “CNPC in Latin America”, which details the sustainable growth and<br />
performance achieved since CNPC stepped into business in this region from 1993.<br />
CNPC HSE Month 2013<br />
To launch this year’s “HSE Month”, CNPC<br />
held a series of activities corporation-wide<br />
with the theme “Strengthen Safe Foundations,<br />
Promote Safety Development”<br />
The various activities ranging<br />
from HSE education to safety drills have been<br />
conducted throughout the month of June.<br />
As instructed by CNPC, during “HSE Month”,<br />
all units throughout the company were<br />
requested to promote safety awareness and<br />
safety culture, to ensure the effective operation of<br />
HSE management system, to build emergency<br />
response mechanism and response system, and<br />
to improve the risk management abilities of<br />
employees at every level. These practices will<br />
comprehensively enhance the HSE management<br />
for the entire corporation.<br />
CNPC also emphasised the importance of<br />
“HSE Month”, and requested that all the<br />
activities be effectively and safely conducted<br />
and organised.<br />

On 16 April 2013, <strong>SPC</strong> welcomed a new member to the family: <strong>SPC</strong><br />
Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5.<br />
The latest addition to our retail network is not a baby by any measure,<br />
as it is the third <strong>SPC</strong> Station in Ang Mo Kio, making us the dominant<br />
player in the estate.<br />
Located within a high-traffic route, the station has one of the<br />
largest C-store spaces in the network to cater for customers who are<br />
constantly on the move. Our strategically located station also boasts<br />
a state-of-the-art design for the second stage vapour recovery system<br />
for each and every dispenser. This is <strong>SPC</strong>’s commitment to the<br />
community and shows that we mean business when it comes to being<br />
environmentally responsible.<br />

Singapore Office Wins 5 Awards at Platts Trading at the Limits 2012<br />
Our Singapore office was honoured to be a recipient of several prestigious awards at the<br />
Platts Trading at the Limits 2012 event on 12 April 2013. A total of 28 awards were given<br />
to nominees in Singapore this year and we were awarded 5 of them. This marks the most<br />
number of awards we have received to date. Details of the awards are as follows:<br />
1. Sold the highest price 10ppm Gasoil Cargo<br />
(150,000 barrels sold on 27 Mar 2012, USD140.65/barrel)<br />
2. Sold the Highest-Priced HSFO 180 cst Cargo<br />
(20,000 mt were sold on 27 Mar 2012, USD756.73/mt)<br />
3. Bought the Lowest-Priced HSFO 380 cst Cargo<br />
(20,000 mt were bought on 25 Jun 2012, USD563.50/mt)<br />
4. Sold the Highest-Priced Dubai Partial<br />
(Sold on 13 Mar 2012, USD124.20/barrel)<br />
5. Traded the largest 10 ppm Gasoil Volume in year 2012.<br />
(Total of 4,875,000 barrels were sold in year 2012)<br />
PCI Achieves the “Dual-Growth &<br />
Dual-Excess”<br />
PetroChina International Co. Ltd (PCI)<br />
presented a remarkable transcript of its<br />
performance from January to April 2013. Its<br />
trade volume of 117 million tons and trade<br />
value of 91 billion USD marked a year-onyear<br />
growth of 28 per cent and 22 per cent<br />
respectively (“Dual-Growth”). This contributed<br />
32.58 billion CNY to CNPC’s gross sales,<br />
which exceeded one-third of the total amount<br />
and profit achieved outperformed budget by<br />
20.5 per cent (“Dual-Excess”).<br />
After decades of striving, <strong>SPC</strong> has grown to be the third largest<br />
island-wide retail network with 40 service stations providing various<br />
services with quality and reliability to the public round the clock.<br />

This is the second time that we have won the “Sold the Highest-Priced Dubai Partial”<br />
award. We were first awarded this honour in 2010.<br />
PCI will continually strive for sustainable<br />
development and higher profit-making<br />
capabilities by simultaneously working on<br />
three initiatives. These initiatives consist of:<br />
completing the integrated operation of all<br />
businesses, adhering to the strategy of lowcost<br />
development and controlling capital<br />
expenditure.<br />
