Editorial
Safety is one of the four core values set out for our
Singapore office. To align to China National Petroleum
Corporation (CNPC) safety culture, it is our corporate top
priority including emphasis on environmental protection,
which we demonstrated through our collective hard work
via Compliance & Social Responsibility. During this second
quarter of the year, we further lifted HSE awareness with a
series of relevant activities particularly in June, our annual
HSE Month. It was timely that CNPC announced its 2012
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report on 28 May
2013, highlighting the key initiatives and implementation
carried out as well as the performance progress achieved
throughout last year.
During the entire HSE Month, there were many activities
carried out to promote the value and importance of
Safety. The Management team led by example with onsite
inspections at our terminals and petrol stations. Many
employees participated in our HSE quiz competition,
courses, trainings and emergency response drills, etc.
Coincidentally in June, Singapore and neighbouring
countries encountered a serious haze emergency. PSI
reading breached the hazardous mark on a number of
occasions. The company immediately responded with
precautionary measures to ensure that the continual wellbeing
and health of our employees are not compromised
with regard to a safe working environment. This
commitment illustrated our dedication towards achieving
“Safety First”. We will continue to incalculate this value in
our daily work life.
Whilst we were surrounded with “haze” in our HSE
Month, we are clear our company have another new
station – SPC Ang Mo Kio Ave 5 – officially added to
our expanding retail network. We are also proud that our
Singapore office had received five Platts awards for our
good trading performance.
Moving forward, we would encourage every staff to work
towards building a robust corporate culture progressively
with our very own Vision, Mission and Values.

Mr Liao Yongyuan Visits Myanmar-China
Oil and Gas Pipelines
Mr Liao Yongyuan, President of China National
Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) visited Myanmar from
26 to 29 May 2013 to oversee the Myanmar-China Oil
and Gas Pipelines project. He was accompanied by Mdm
Wang Lihua and other senior officials from CNPC.
During his visit, Mr Liao met and interacted with the
on-site project team. He stressed that the success of the
project depends on the commitment and dedication to
preparation works, to ensure the final smooth operation,
and this is of mutual benefit to both countries.
After three years of construction, the pipeline section
in Myanmar was completed on 28 May 2013. The gas
pipeline is fully operational and ready for commissioning.
In the meantime, the crude oil pipeline is 94 per cent
ready and will come on stream soon.
Mdm Wang Lihua Awarded
“Outstanding Women in China
Economy 2012”
Hosted by All-China Women’s Federation,
the “Outstanding Women in China Economy
2012” was unveiled
on 28 April in Beijing, China. Mdm Wang
Lihua, President of PetroChina International
Co., Ltd was among the 10 awardees of this
year’s event.
With the core concept of “Performance,
Influence & Social Responsibility”
, this annual event honours
outstanding women working in various fields
of China’s economy. The event also receives
extensive attention from media and society.

Mr Wang Dongjin Attends Myanmar-
China Gas Pipeline Commissioning
Ceremony
Mr Wang Dongjin, President of PetroChina
Company Limited (PetroChina) paid a site visit
recently to Myanmar-China Oil and Gas Pipelines
project. Accompanied by Mdm Wang Lihua, Mr
Wang Dongjin attended the Commissioning
Ceremony of gas pipeline held at Mandalay,
Myanmar on 28 July, which was also witnessed
by senior government officials from China,
Myanmar, Korea and India, and representatives
from shareholders. The 793-kilometre gas pipeline
runs from Kyaukpyu on Myanmar’s west coast
and is expected to deliver 12 billion cubic meters
of natural gas produced in Myanmar to China’s
southern province of Yunnan.
