The Tuxedo MIB application programming<br />

interface<br />

We have discussed how to use the GUI and command-line interfaces for mon<strong>it</strong>oring<br />

the Tuxedo applications, but you can also wr<strong>it</strong>e a program using a Management<br />

Information Base (MIB) interface for mon<strong>it</strong>oring purposes that can modify the<br />

TUXCONFIG file for you if you need to make changes to any configuration. The MIBs<br />

provide the framework for programmed administration of the Tuxedo system. For<br />

more <strong>info</strong>rmation, please refer to Oracle online documentation.<br />

Tuxedo System and Application Mon<strong>it</strong>oring<br />

(TSAM)<br />

TSAM is an Oracle Tuxedo add-on product that provides comprehensive mon<strong>it</strong>oring<br />

and reporting for the Tuxedo application. It mon<strong>it</strong>ors runtime performance<br />

bottlenecks and business-data fluctuations, determines service models, and provides<br />

notification when predefined thresholds are violated. In this section, we will discuss<br />

and provide an overview on <strong>it</strong>s arch<strong>it</strong>ectural components and the relation between<br />

them, the installation procedure, and a quick start guideline to mon<strong>it</strong>or your Tuxedo<br />
