Supplies:
▶ stuffed animals
▶ 2-foot lengths of
cloth strips or cotton
gauze (approximately
3 inches wide)
Option 4: It’s a Wrap
Before kids arrive, tear or cut strips of cloth or cotton gauze into 2-foot lengths.
(These are easiest for preschoolers to work with.)
1. Say: Lazarus’s sisters loved him so much. They were sad when he died.
They wrapped his body in soft cloth. Let preschoolers wrap up a stuffed
animal in the strips of cloth.
2. Say: Jesus showed his amazing power. He made Lazarus be alive again!
Jesus said, “Take those grave cloths off of him!” Let children unwrap the
animals and give them hugs as they say, “Trust God!”

We’ve found that it’s nice to have a
few options that are less structured
in the middle of a busy day at
VBS. Letting children play with
stuffed animals—wrapping and
unwrapping them or hugging
them—provides a bit of down time
for your littlest “fliers.”
