4. Let children play with their bubbles,
seeing how far they can blow a bubble
before it pops. As children make the
bubbles float around the room, point
out that God is with us wherever we
go. This is a great time to have kids take
turns carefully standing on the cinder
block in the middle of the pool. Ask a
Crew Leader to help you slowly lift the hula hoop out of the
solution, lifting straight up to make a bubble that surrounds the child!
5. Be sure Crew Leaders check that the Itty Bitty Bubble Bottle lids are screwed
on tightly. Then have children carefully attach the “Fly Home & Try It” stickers
to resealable bags before placing their bubble bottles in the bags.
Option 2: The Big Catch
Say: In the Bible, Jesus’ friends trusted Jesus, and they caught a huge net-full of
fish! They didn’t expect Jesus to be at the beach with them that day. But they
learned that No matter where you are…trust God! Our Bible picture will remind us of
that amazing and true story!
1. Give each child the Day 5 Bible Activity Page from his or her Bible Play Pack, and
write the child’s name on the page.
2. Turn the papers over, and point out the pictures of places we might see God in
action. Ask children to keep watching for God long after they leave Sky VBS!
3. Turn the papers back over, and let children glue as many fish-shaped crackers
to the net as possible. Then preschoolers can color the rest of the picture.
Option 3: Fingerprint Fan
Say: Our special Bible verse tells us that
we don’t have to worry or be sad
because “the Lord your God is with
you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9).
Ask:
Did you know that there’s
something else that’s always
with you…even though you
sometimes don’t know it? Let a
few kids guess.
Say: You have special fingerprints that leave a mark anytime you touch something
that’s hard. Demonstrate by pressing your finger onto the stamp pad, then
making a fingerprint on a piece of paper. Explain that we don’t always see the
fingerprints we leave, but they’re there! Say: Let’s take a look at those fabulous
fingerprints as you make a cool craft!
1. Give each child a paper plate and a craft stick. Write the child’s name on the
plate or the craft stick.
2. Tape the craft stick to the plate to make a fan. Then let preschoolers make loads
of colorful fingerprints all over their fan, being sure to decorate both sides of
the fan.
3. Wave a fan to cool off a child, pointing out that air is something else that’s all
around us even though we can’t see it. Encourage children to gently fan each
other and say, No matter where you are…trust God! (Have wet wipes available to
quickly clean children’s fingers.)
