On April 7 at the
Boca Friends for
Cancer Research
General Meeting,
Leslie Baumann, MD.,
CPI, a Cosmetic
Dermatologist,
discussed skin care,
Leslie Baumann, MD and cosmetic products
Barbara Corwin
and procedures. Dr.
Baumann is an
internationally renowned dermatologist and
author of the book The Skin Type Solution. Over
100 members and guests attended her
presentation at the Center Court Café, each
receiving a gift of skin care products. Dr.
Baumann has been involved in many notable
research trials in cosmetic medicine, including
Botox, Dysport, Sculptra and Juvederm. A
question and answer session followed her
lecture. She was professor of Dermatology at
the University of Miami for 12 years. Currently,
Dr. Baumann is the CEO of Baumann Cosmetic
and Research Institute in Miami Beach. For

Weisman presented a plaque to Gerald Yass

Comprehensive Cancer Center
on behalf of the Executive Board and members
of Boca Friends. They expressed their deep
appreciation for his generous donation and
thoughtfulness supporting cancer research at
Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The last item of business at the Meeting was
the announcement that Eleanor Weisman will
become the president of Boca Friends on
June 1.
Every year in May, the Papanicolaou Corps
for Cancer Research presents its annual
donation to Sylvester. The amount given for
cancer research in 2009 was $3,000,000.
Boca Friends is one of 52 units in the Pap
Corps. Thanks to the continued support of
Broken Sound members and residents, Boca
Friends has raised $100,000 from this year’s
fundraising events. We are proud that 99.1%
net of all funds raised goes DIRECTLY to
cancer research at Sylvester. We THANK
