Exempt development Schedule 2
(5) Must be removed within 7 days after the premises or land is sold or let.
(6) If located on land in Zone IN1 General Industrial—must be set back at
least 1 metre from the front boundary.
Signage—real estate signs (advertising premises or land for sale or rent) in
residential or rural zones
(1) Must meet the general requirements for signage.
(2) If on land in a residential zone, maximum area—3m 2 .
(3) If on land in a rural zone, maximum area—5m 2 .
(4) Must be removed within 7 days after the premises or land is sold or let.
(5) Must not be illuminated or flashing.
Signage—signs behind the glass line of a shop window
(1) Must meet the general requirements for signage.
(2) If on land in Zone RU4 Primary Production Small Lots, maximum
area—25% of the area of the window.
(3) Must be internally illuminated.
(4) Must not be located in a sex services premise.
Signage—temporary signs (special events)
(1) Must meet the general requirements for signage.
(2) Maximum 2 signs on site.
(3) Maximum 6 signs off site.
(4) If on land in a residential or rural zone:
(a) maximum area—1.5m 2 , and
(b) maximum height—1.5m.
(5) If on land in a commercial or industrial zone:
(a) maximum area—5m 2 , and
(b) maximum height—3m.
(6) Must not include commercial advertising apart from the name of any
event sponsors.
(7) Must not be displayed earlier than 2 months before, or later than 2 days
after, the event.
(8) Must not obstruct the sight line of vehicular traffic.
(9) Must not be illuminated or flashing.
